Stichting NMD is working with the sector on better environmental data for installations
Installations are one of the biggest gaps in the Dutch Environmental Database. Stichting NMD is therefore working with manufacturers, industry associations and advisors on more environmental data and a fixed methodology for installations. On the new Installations in the NMD page, you can read what has already been done, what the planning is and how you can contribute.
In recent months, new category 3 environmental declarations have been published for PV panels, heat pumps, boilers and buffer vessels, among other things. Declarations for fire safety, security, air quality, drainage systems and escalators are expected before the end of 2026.
In the Installations in the NMD programme, we are working on a single methodology for modelling installations. We are doing this together with the sector. A steering group including FME, Techniek Nederland, LBP|SIGHT, W/E adviseurs and Life Cycle Vision advises on progress. We are developing the methodology and testing it with manufacturers, for example in workshops. We will publish the programme timeline in November 2026.
At the Duurzame Installatietop on 11 November in Utrecht, project manager Maarten Schäffner will tell you more about the programme.
Are you a manufacturer? Then you can already contribute with your own environmental declaration, possibly with support from the Filling the Gaps Compensation Scheme.
Are you missing generic data for an installation? Report it via the reporting point for missing environmental declarations.
