Public consultation on WLC-GWP Assessment Method version 0.95 now open
The NMD Foundation (Stichting NMD) has opened a public consultation on draft version 0.95 of the WLC-GWP Assessment Method. Professionals who work with the WLC-GWP can submit their feedback until Friday 6 November 2026, 17:00
Why this consultation?
The WLC-GWP calculates the climate impact of a building across its entire life cycle. The assessment method sets out how this calculation is made. To make sure the method works in practice, we want to hear how the people who use it every day assess this version. These include (energy performance) consultants, LCA practitioners, calculation tool providers, clients and policymakers.
What is under consultation?
Version 0.95 is still being considered by the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK), which will take a decision on it. Some parts may change after that decision. These concern the explanation of the WLC-GWP results and the demarcation rules. The sections on determining the total WLC-GWP, with and without time-dependent weighting, have been left blank on purpose. They will be completed once the decision has been made.
How to respond
You can respond using the form on the consultation page, where you can enter your comments per chapter. Please start each comment with the page number and, where relevant, the sentence it refers to. This helps us process every response carefully.
Next steps
Once the consultation has closed, we will process the responses. We will then draw up version 1.0, based on the policy decisions made by BZK and the comments from the consultation. Version 1.0 will be the final version. We expect to publish it in November 2026.
