Information for construction material producers
Would you like to register your product in the Dutch Environmental Database? On this page you will find information about environmental declarations, submitting environmental data and the steps towards registration in the Dutch Environmental Database.
To register your product in the Dutch Environmental Database, an environmental declaration is required, based on a life cycle assessment (LCA) in accordance with the Assessment Method for Environmental Performance of Building Works. The environmental data is prepared by a (recognised) LCA practitioner, verified by a recognised LCA verifier, and then registered in the Dutch Environmental Database.
Your product's environmental declaration can then be used in environmental performance calculations for buildings and infrastructure.
Why an environmental declaration?
With an environmental declaration in the Dutch Environmental Database, your product becomes visible and usable in environmental performance calculations within the Dutch construction sector. This allows clients, designers and advisors to take your product into account in sustainable design choices for buildings and infrastructure.
An environmental declaration contains data on the environmental impact of a product, based on a life cycle assessment (LCA) in accordance with the Assessment Method for Environmental Performance of Building Works. This environmental data is used in environmental performance calculations, such as MPG and MKI calculations.
An environmental declaration in the Dutch Environmental Database ensures that your product:
- Is visible to clients, designers and advisors who want to build sustainably
- Is included in environmental performance calculations within construction projects, such as MPG and MKI calculations
- Can be used in projects where environmental performance plays a role
- Helps meet requirements around environmental performance in the construction sector
Would you like, as a producer or supplier, to contribute to more sustainable construction in the Netherlands? Then registration in the Dutch Environmental Database is an important step.
