Consider the following aspects:
Data volume, data complexity, data classification, scalability, completeness, usability of data, etc., and the impact on the system (CO₂ reduction, circularity, etc.).
Section A – Start-ups / SMEs
Complete this section only if you have selected ‘Start-ups / SMEs’ under ‘Type of application’.
- Your company must meet the requirements for a Start-ups / SMEs application. Fill in your reasoning in the block below. The Dutch Environmental Database will assess your application based on the following criteria:
- Your company has been registered with the Chamber of Commerce for a maximum of 5 years and/or you have a maximum of 250 employees.
- If you have an SME, your annual turnover must not exceed €50 million or your balance sheet total must not exceed €43 million.
To prove that your company is a start-up or SME, we ask you to provide some supporting documents. These may include:
- a recent Chamber of Commerce extract (showing that the company has been registered for a maximum of 5 years);
- annual accounts, turnover tax for the past 4 years, and profit and loss account (to verify turnover criteria);
- a statement from an accountant regarding the turnover or balance sheet total;
- a staff overview showing the number of employees.

Section B – Innovative products
Complete this section only if you have selected ‘innovative products’ under ‘Type of application’.
Your product must meet the requirements for an ‘innovative products’ application. In practice, this means the product must be demonstrably innovative and there must be no better alternatives. The Dutch Environmental Database will assess your application based on certain criteria. Some possible criteria are: the product achieves a 25% CO2 reduction compared to another product in the Dutch Environmental Database, or the product has only been available for a short time (max. 5 years). Fill in your reasoning in the block below.
To prove the innovative nature of the product, we ask you to provide some supporting documents. These may include:
- reports or documents explaining the product’s functionality (e.g. test reports or evaluations);
- certifications or quality marks that support innovation or sustainability;
- an i-Depot or similar proof that the idea/product existed on a specific date;
- CO2 reduction tests or measurements;
- a verification statement from an expert or external authority.
