In 2020 is de Bepalingsmethode flink op de schop gegaan. De SBK-Bepalingsmethode Milieuprestatie Gebouwen en GWW-werken werd in dat jaar vervangen door de eerste versie van de Bepalingsmethode Milieuprestatie Bouwwerken.
