Paul van Aggelen - LCA Advisor
As an industrial product designer, I was trained to come up with smart, feasible solutions — but I soon started wondering: how sustainable are these solutions, really? During my first job and my graduation thesis, I delved into LCAs and developed a fascination with quantifying sustainability. Since then, I haven’t stopped calculating environmental impact.
In my role as an LCA advisor at the Dutch Environmental Database, I am committed to making complex sustainability data understandable and applicable. The better we map the impact of materials and products, the more effectively we can steer towards a sustainable construction sector. I believe that solid foundations start with clear figures — which ultimately lead to better decisions.
Outside of work, you’ll find me on the hockey field, at the chessboard, or with friends. A good conversation, a bit of competition and learning something new — that’s what energises me, both in and out of work.
