An increasing number of recognised LCA practitioners and reviewers affiliated with the Dutch Environmental Database
The number of recognised LCA practitioners and reviewers contributing to the Dutch Environmental Database continues to grow. Over the past year, we welcomed 6 new recognised reviewers and 6 recognised practitioners. This further expands the network of professionals working on reliable environmental data for the construction sector.

Role of practitioners and reviewers
Since last year, LCA practitioners can be recognised by the NMD. Practitioners play an important role for manufacturers who want to have an environmental declaration drawn up for their construction product. They ensure a correct Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in line with the Assessment Method Environmental Performance of Construction Works, making it suitable for inclusion in the Dutch Environmental Database.
Recognised reviewers have the task of independently checking the work of practitioners. They assess whether the LCAs comply with the quality protocols of the NMD. Thanks to this double safeguard, the data in the database is reliable and can be applied uniformly in environmental performance calculations.
