Signing of licence agreement

On 11 December, the cooperation between Stichting NMD and the software parties offering calculation tools under licence was continued with a brief ceremonial signing. These calculation tools are private calculation software that are reviewed by Stichting NMD for the correct and uniform implementation of the Assessment Method(s) and the proper use of environmental data from the Dutch Environmental Database.

Due to the many developments within the system, it became increasingly clear that the existing licence agreements were in need of an update. Jan-Willem Groot, who signed on behalf of Stichting NMD, reflected in a brief speech on the close cooperation between the calculation tool owners and Stichting NMD. He addressed changes in European and national legislation and emphasised the importance of strong collaboration for the further development of the system. With the renewed and future-proof licence agreement, this cooperation enters the next phase.

As a symbolic gesture, he presented all parties involved with four trees, which will be planted by Trees for All in the Netherlands and in Borneo. Trees stand for unity, strength and growth, and thus also symbolise the cooperation that contributes to the continuous improvement of the system and, in turn, to the further sustainability of the built environment.

Through this cooperation and the planting of these trees, the parties involved contribute to a better climate, greater biodiversity and healthy living conditions.
