On July 1, 2024, the new entry module of the National Environmental Database (NMD) will be launched. This entry module serves as a portal for LCA experts to add environmental declarations to the NMD.

The database and its functionalities have grown significantly over the years, making the current input module no longer sufficient to meet the requirements. Therefore, we are excited to introduce our new entry module and look forward to you experiencing all the benefits it brings.

Improvements in the new entry module

Dashboard

After logging in, you will be greeted with a dashboard showing statistics of your workload. This gives you immediate insight into your ongoing and completed tasks.

Overview of your requests

Use the overview to sort and search environmental declarations. In addition to draft versions, you will also find the environmental declarations published by you.

Step-by-Step wizard

The new input module guides the user step-by-step through the process of creating an environmental declaration in the NMD. Each step is clearly explained, so you no longer need a manual.

Validation on entry

The new entry module checks user input in real time. This helps minimize human error during entry.

No more CSV

You can now upload your PPS sheet in Excel format. This is much more user-friendly and avoids the issues we encountered with CSV in the old entry module.

Visual feedback on scaling

Enter your data point and scaling formula, and the software provides real-time feedback with a chart.

Document uploading

It is now possible to upload documents via the new entry module. This feature provides added convenience when submitting your environmental declarations.

Feedback on each step during review

LCA practitioners and reviewers can provide feedback to each other at every step of the process. This improves collaboration and ensures more accurate results.

Invite your colleagues

Instead of contacting St.NMD to create a new account, you can now invite your colleagues yourself via the new entry module.

These are just a few of the new features in our redesigned entry module. We would love to hear your feedback after you start using it from July 1, 2024.

Important information for LCA practitioners

If you are already an LCA practitioner, you will receive an email notification with the link to the new entry module. If you are not yet registered as an LCA practitioner, go to [this page](link to the LCA practitioner webpage) to register.

IMPORTANT: Concept declarations will not be migrated to the new entry module. So if you are working on a declaration in the old entry module, make sure to publish it before July 1, 2024. Otherwise, you will have to re-enter it in the new entry module.
