Digigo

DigiGO is the platform for digital collaboration in the built environment. It forms a network by, for, and of professionals in the design, construction, and technical sectors, helping the sector take steps toward chain-wide digitalisation.

Stichting NMD actively participates in this network. Within DigiGO, we contribute to initiatives aimed at improving the digital exchange of information across the construction chain.

Within DigiGO, Stichting NMD works on initiatives aimed at improving the digital exchange of information in the construction chain. Through the DigiGO Administrative Agreement, some 40 parties have agreed to exchange data in the built environment in a uniform and reliable manner. Stichting NMD leads submeasure 10.5, focused on making environmental product data available and applicable. This is achieved through four digiDeals, developed in collaboration with partners to create practical solutions for broader and more effective use of environmental data.

On 16 October 2024, Stichting NMD signed the DigiGO Administrative Agreement, in which approximately forty sector parties committed to standardising and exchanging data in the built environment. Under policy measure 10 of this agreement, Stichting NMD leads submeasure 10.5. Following exploratory discussions, four digiDeals have been established to support the construction sector in making sustainable choices using environmental data.

The agreement focuses on uniform and reliable data exchange in processes such as design, permitting, construction, and management. By making environmental performance data of construction materials available, Stichting NMD supports the sector in making sustainable choices.

Under policy measure 10, Digital exchange of environmental product data, Stichting NMD leads submeasure 10.5. Through pilots and collaborations, it explores how NMD data can be more widely and effectively applied. Four digiDeals have been established to create practical applications for environmental data in the construction sector.

Policy measure 10.5

Stichting NMD investigates, through existing and future pilots, how NMD data - based on DSGO - can be shared to enable broader application of NMD data in areas such as the design phase, CAD software, or cost estimation. It is essential that users specify which environmental data are required and how these are linked to product data (such as ETIM). The DSGO-based link must provide a universal API compatible with various software packages, ensuring seamless and secure data sharing. This requires close collaboration with users and software suppliers to guarantee that the integration meets all technical and functional requirements and aligns with current digital standards and protocols in the construction industry.

Planning and progress

After signing the DigiGO Administrative Agreement in October 2024, Stichting NMD began preparing for implementation. In the first half of 2025, over thirty sector parties were involved in exploratory discussions. Based on this input, four digiDeals were formulated, each with its own focus and working group.

In the summer of 2025, the so-called "digiDeal in a Day" sessions were held. During these meetings, all stakeholders worked on the first project initiation documents and gathered valuable insights into roles, interests, and expectations.

Following a feedback round, the documents were further refined. On 17 September 2025, the four digiDeals were signed simultaneously, marking the start of the implementation phase, in which agreements will be translated into concrete applications.

The first results are expected by the end of 2025. From 2026 onwards, scaling up will be central: the lessons and solutions from the digiDeals will be further embedded in the chain, making digital collaboration on environmental data the standard in the construction sector.
