The NMD Foundation's new entry platform is launched on 2 September 2024. This platform will allow LCA experts to add environmental statements to the NMD database.

In recent years, both the database and its functionality have grown significantly, so the current input modules no longer meet the requirements. Therefore, NMD Foundation is introducing an entirely new entry platform. The first version of this platform will only support category 1 and 2 data entry. Functionalities for entering category 3 data will be added to the same platform later in 2024.

Account management

In the account management platform, user details can be modified and it is possible to see who is all connected to the company account.

Dashboard

After logging in, you will see a dashboard that displays the statistics of your company account. This gives you instant insight into both ongoing and completed tasks.

Overview of your new and published environmental statements

You can open the overview pages via the menu where all environmental statements within the company account, to which your personal account is linked, can be found. This contains both draft versions (‘Applied for environmental statements’) and published environmental statements (‘Recorded environmental statements’). To create a new draft environmental statement, click on the green button ‘+ NEW APPLICATION’.

Are you an LCA reviewer? Then you will see an additional list of all open environmental statements to be reviewed. You will also see the statements you have reviewed and published under ‘Recorded environmental statements’.

Input wizard

The user is guided step by step through the process when creating an environmental declaration in NMD. Each stage is clearly explained, making separate manuals unnecessary.

Validation on entry

User-entered data are checked in ‘real-time’, minimising human error.

Uploading the data via Excel instead of CSV

The environmental data in the PPS sheet will now be uploaded in Excel format instead of CSV. This is more user-friendly and avoids the problems users experienced with the .CSV format in the old input module.

Visual feedback when scaling

The software provides instant feedback in the form of a graph when you enter data points and the scaling formula. This allows you to easily check the formula and see how the data relate to each other.

Uploading documents

In the revamped entry platform, it is again possible to upload background documents to an environmental statement.

Feedback on each step during review

Reviewers can provide feedback at each individual step of the input process. LCA practitioners can then respond to the individual comments. This improves cooperation and reduces the turnaround time of the process.

Important information for LCA practitioners

Are you already an LCA practitioners?

If you are already an LCA practitioners and have login details for the current entry module, you will soon receive an email with a link to the new entry platform. You can use the ‘forgot password’ option to create a new password and then access the new platform.

IMPORTANT! Draft statements will not be transferred to the new input module.

If you are preparing a statement in the old input module, make sure it is published by 31 August 2024. If you fail to do so, you will have to completely re-enter the statement in the new entry platform. All environmental statements published up to 31 August 2024 will be transferred to the new entry platform.
